LOVE the new look...thank you Nic and Eelyn. Its been a mad term and we haven't been in touch or blogged for ages. Sorry, Sorry, Sorry! The photography exhibtion will be at Sutton House and we can all go together on Friday 16th July from 12 - 1; but you can go when you like as well. Should be really exciting to see all the wonderful things you have photographed.I've been really busy seeing things at the theatre. A LOT of opera! And I'm now starting to enjoy i .....
Monday, 26 April 2010 Death on the Nile (NOT!)
Hi all just struggled back from Egypt - an amazing journey up the Nile:  extraordinary temples, beautiful scenery, incredible history. I took some good photos - random temple pillars and faces of Egyptian guards (with a telephoto - so they didn't know they were being snapped!).Saw a play on Friday at the National (Women Beware Women - wonderful staging!) and a BRILLIANT piece of acrobatic circus at the Roundhouse on Saturday. The Roundhouse are doing lots of circus stuff at the mom .....

Tuesday, 09 March 2010 Ooops
I can't download my pictures! I don't have cables for my new camera...but i will try again today with a card reader.I did enjoy last night - great to see so many pictures - including the one of Peter looking like the demon headmaster! You see the camera does lie! I suppose I'm still a bit old fashioned in my outlook so I'm not sure that we should be tweaking photo colour and the like...though its amazing to think what can be done. All those glamorous pictures of film stars and models, t .....
Monday, 01 March 2010 Taking Part
Hi all, having read Dunni's thoughts on the process I thought I'd better get on here quick! Sorry, that we don't get on here as often as we should. I think its because when we go home we have tospend time with our families and when we're at school we're working on other things but I get your point! Sorry. But I absolutley agree about there being too many things and that may be the reason why some people aren't able to cope with what we've been offering! If we do it again I think we would .....
Thursday, 11 February 2010 REMINDERS
The drama workshop based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night will take place on Monday 22nd February (the first day back after half term) from 3.45 pm to 5.15 pm in the Old Hall at Jubilee. .....
Wednesday, 10 February 2010 Attendance Nag
Hi all, can I nag a little bit? I realise that the whole of the ABC project is quite a commitment (I know this because Peter and I have committed quite a time on it!) but if you can't make a session please can you let me know BEFORE the event? At least then if we have tickets we can get other families involved: I know none of this is costing anything to you but the schools have invested a lot of time and money into the project and for it to really work it i .....
Monday, 08 February 2010 The National PORTRAIT Gallery
Thank you to those who came along on Saturday. My parents thought you were all amazing and mum went on and on about how polite and interesting all the children were. She was stunned by how you were all so willing to chat to her (clearly more willing than I am!!!). Living out in the wilds of Devon I think she has been reading too many newspaper reports and listening to the telly all of which say that the children of Hackney are wild! Well done for showing her that the newspapers get it wr .....
Wednesday, 03 February 2010 Crash, Bang, Wallop - what a picture!
Thanks to all who came last night - sorry if you didn't make it! Hope you all had fun clicking away...I'm very keen to get some portraits done myself, but also want to have ago at doing something with shadows and light. Of course I may have to charge my camera first!!! Please look after the cameras everybody...remember to keep the strap round your necks! See you all at the National Portrait Gallery on Saturday at 11 a.m. Really looking forward to seing what you have all taken! What themes/sub .....
Monday, 01 February 2010 Gotta dance!
Thanks everybody! Really enjoyed last night...tho' the high point has to be, for me, my salsa with Alison! Thank you...you got the moves too!I liked the breakers - a lot, tho' Keon if you can choreograph better, then the Christmas show is in YOUR hands next year! I felt sorry for the ballet dancers following on from the breakers because their techinque is different it sort of lost the wow appeal of the guys.I liked the comp winners tho' there were moments when I t .....
Friday, 29 January 2010 Cultural Weekend
Well, tonight I'm off to the Opera! Dunni's favourite experience  - the Royal Opera House (SOOOO posh!). I'm going to see Cosi Fan Tutti...not quite sure why; I've read the plot synopsis and find it all very odd - a lot of larking about in disguises from people with very long names. Oh well, there may be some good tunes and I'll get a good dinner - so can't complain! Tomorrow I was going to see Red at the Donmar Theatre but then we're off to .....
Tuesday, 19 January 2010 Nation
Thank you all for coming last night. I was concerned when the play started that it might be a bit patronising, that the 'Natives' were savages and 'The White Man' would svae the day but was pleased that that tuned out to be not the case at all. I was thrilled to see the group absolutley lapping it up and for a generation brought up on the sophistication of computer games and Avatar and the cinema - I was delighted to see the children so engrossed in the story and the staging. Total suspension .....
Monday, 18 January 2010 Culture Circus
What a weekend I have had...two performances in three days and then another tonight! On Friday I went to see La Clique at the Roundhouse - just one word to say...GO!It was BRILLIANT! Very funny and extraordinary display of circus skills - trapeze, roller skating (that defied belief and very nearly could have been a disaster), cabaret singing, a very daring act (hmm....too risque to mention here!) a .....
Thursday, 14 January 2010 Welcome!
Thank you so much to everyone that came last night to our first blogging session - you are all brilliant! Thank you Nic and Eelyn for all your perseverance - I think that it was really useful and everyone seemd so keen to use it! Let's hope that you all do, I am SO impressed with all your work and loved seeing parents and children working together! I will try to email pictures to those that haven't got one as your Avatar (is that what they're called?) - but feel free .....
Monday, 11 January 2010 Start Blogging!
Hope all is well with everybody! I didn't go to the Saatchi or to the Music Hall! I went to the sales and then stayed in and watched Young Victoria on DVD: possibly not very creative or highbrow but just rather nice not to have to think! And it sent me off to look up Lady Flora on the internet and wonder about why they cut the scenes they did from the film. I thought it made certain parts of .....
Wednesday, 06 January 2010 New Year, New Look
I'm loving the new look blog...and was very excited to have a mystery comment posted from a friend of one of the choir singers... I was thrilled to see everything that has been written by staff from both schools and love the videos too - tho' my screen grab is very, very strange (unless of course I actually look like that - in which case I'm off for surgery straight away!)I'm really hoping that this new look blog will pave the way for all sorts of comments - I'm already thinking of .....
Tuesday, 05 January 2010 My recent creative experiences
Back again. Ok, so what artistic thing can I write about?  Went to see Sandi Toksvig and Ronnie Corbett in Christmas Cracker at the South Bank...a weird mix of song, comedy, magic and audience participation. Completely mad but a good start to Christmas...like a panto but better as the cast seemed to be having the best time ever and there wasn't a star taking all the focus. Try it if its on next year. Also saw the Anish Kapoor at th .....

"Going to the dance was a fantastic experience. My grandmother who was very formal and austere used to take me to the ballet and i absolutely hated it"
The dance workshop and Sadlers Wells by ivan and chrissie

"I think what i have learnt the most about this project is.......wait for it....is SELF BELIEF. If an artist or anyone, writes, sings, dances or sculpts etc and believes they have done a good job, well thats all that matters....i have doubted myself in the past, lacked believing in myself and what i can achieve....”
Our first visit to the Tate Modern by Alison and Keon

"We have decided to take Ryan and Naombh somewhere at least once a month and have figured that with our children its best sometimes just to get on a bus or tube and just see what's going on ,sort of exposing them to the arts accidentally there is so much to see and do"
